While my exhibition was on in Fumbally, Jonathan Keane, a journalism student from Griffith College, came down and interviewed me for the GCD student mag, Griffiti. You can click on the image above to read it. Many thanks to Jonathan. It’s always nice when someone shows an interest in your work and especially nice when they take the time to do an interview and write an article about it. Speaking of Griffith College, the Graduate show of their photography degree starts on June 3rd, and should be well worth a look. Full details on this, and the Creative Fortnight of which it is a part, can be found here.
I’m slightly pissed off tonight because instead of sitting here writing this I should be out watching and photographing synth/drone outfit Emeralds in Whelans. Their 2010 album, Does It Look Like I’m Here, was one of my favourites of last year and I’ve been looking forward to seeing them live for a while. Alas, some bloody volcano exploding in Iceland has put paid to that as all flights between Glasgow (where they were playing last night) and Dublin have been cancelled because of the ash cloud. I should have just gone to Primavera. Here’s a grainy video of them playing at the No Fun Fest in Sweden in 2009. Such a shame .. it would have been a good one.
